Jitters

I  get the jitters as the time gets closer. Today, I realize that 7 days from now, we will be on our way to China. One of Cliff's many Chinese students, Lily, confirmed she will purchase lower berths for us on the train to Xian. You can travel hard sleeper, hard seat, soft seat or soft sleeper on the overnight train. We prefer the soft sleeper for the 14 hour trip and  it is prudent to purchase 10 days in advance. Lily is employed by the tourism industry in China, so we are fortunate to have her do this for us. If we waited until we arrived, we possibly would not be able to have lower bunks. Another student , Sunnie, will meet us at the airport with our good friend Sherry. Today, we will confirm with Serena (our Chinese friend in the states) arrangements for our trip to the orphanage. Since it is off the beaten path, we need a driver familiar with the area. It is 8hrs round trip. These trips will happen our first week in China. I found this picture on the internet and thought you would enjoy seeing what a soft sleeper compartment looks like. It is cozy . We trust and are not leaning on our own understanding.
